Customization lets you work the way you want
CatExpress lets you streamline your copy cataloging work by configuring settings for the interface as well as default values for copy cataloging data. Each CatExpress authorization has one set of customized options; users who prefer or need different settings can modify the default and apply them to their single session without affecting their group's shared settings.
Customization and administrative options include:
- Interface preferences
Customize the navigation bar, Quick Tips help display, and other interface features; change settings for session inactivity timer; set WebDewey options (if subscribed to the service); enter or modify contact information for your authorization.
- Record view
Choose to view the elements of bibliographic records with either MARC tags or descriptive text labels.
- Call number type
Select the type of call number you use most frequently: Dewey, Library of Congress, National Library of Medicine, Local, or none (call number type is selected within each edited record).
- Default label format
Select the label printing format used most frequently.
- Default Holding Library Code
Enter the OCLC holding library code used most frequently.
- Default Location
Enter the text to appear in the Location field (852) in bibliographic records.
- Export File Type
Choose to collect export files as a single file the institution symbol level or to collect individual files at the authorization number level if your institution has more than one authorization number.
- Export File Name
Enter the file name that you need for local use.
